A
test bed consisting of a vehicle equipped with data capture and
management technologies will be established, and this will form the hub
for all research and development activities in the various strands of
the programme. This test bed could be used for further developments in
this area.
In addition, research in each strand will typically result in the following outputs:
- Tools and methodologies for addressing the issues and challenges
- Specifications for technology solutions
- Implementation roadmap
- Demonstrators/prototypes
- Software (prototype development for demonstrators)
- White papers capturing key issues, challenges, and requirements
- Academic publications including international conference and refereed journal papers
Further, a technology roadmap that explores current and future
technologies that could impact on vehicle service provision will be
also be developed as part of the core research strand
